Baked rice in the oven
The rice is slow roasted, giving it a specific delicious taste and a beautiful golden colour. The preparation is very simple and the result is always great.
Ingredients
- 200 g Rice (preferably basmati)
- 500 ml beef broth
- 1 onion
- 2 Cloves garlic
- 2 Spoons butter
- Grated cheese to taste
- Fresh herbs (parsley, coriander)
- salt and pepper

Turn on the oven to 180°C. While waiting for the right temperature, prepare the rice. I recommend using basmati rice for its long grains and low starch content, which prevents the rice from sticking.
Chop the onion and garlic finely and fry in a pan in butter until golden in colour. Add the rice and fry it briefly with the onion and garlic. Do not overcook the rice, it will just get a slightly glassy colour.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and add the beef broth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cover the dish and place in a preheated oven for 50 minutes.
