Bolognese Baked Penne

This Italian-flavored bolognese, cottage cheese, baked pasta is a great choice for lunch or dinner. Penne is the perfect base for this layered delight, which generously fills the plates and stomachs.

Bolognese sauce

1. Step

1. Chop the onion and garlic, then sauté them until translucent in a large skillet with a bit of olive oil.

2. Step

2. Add the ground beef, then fry until every side of the meat is cooked.

3. Step

3. When the meat is almost done, add the oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and tomato puree. Mix it up, and let it simmer a bit on low heat.

4. Step

Cook the penne according to the instructions found on the package, then strain it.

5. Pour the finished penne into a fireproof mold, then spoon the Bolognese sauce over it, and a layer of sour cream. Sprinkle with grated Trappist cheese.
