Button mushrooms stewed in cream
I love this recipe, because in addition to being extremely simple to prepare, it perfectly captures the taste of button mushrooms.
Ingredients
- 500 g button mushrooms
- 250 ml cream
- 1 pcs onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 spoons butter
- salt and pepper to taste

Directions
Clean mushrooms thoroughly, but do not wash them - mushrooms absorb water very easily which later affects their texture and taste. Just use a brush to remove the remains of soil and leaves.
Fry the finely diced onion in butter until it becomes glassy. Add the finely chopped mushrooms and fry the whole thing until the mushrooms start to let go of water. At this stage, add pressed garlic. In my experience, garlic added at this stage blends beautifully with the other ingredients.
When the water begins to boil, add the cream and simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes. At the end of stewing, season with salt and pepper to taste. Remember that the cream will neutralize the flavor of the salt and pepper somewhat, so add a little more than you would normally add.
Serve hot with bread. If you want to add elegance to the dish, you can sprinkle it with parsley or chives before serving.
