1. Step

Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Step

In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy. Add the cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form.

3. Step

Gradually add the sugar, while continuing to beat the mixture. Add the vanilla extract and green food coloring and beat until stiff peaks form.

4. Step

Transfer the meringue to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe out small, medium, and large stars onto the prepared baking sheet, stacking them to form mini Christmas trees.

Bake the meringues in the preheated oven for 2 hours, or until they are dry and firm to the touch. Turn off the oven and let the meringues cool completely.

6. Step

While the meringues are cooling, make the icing by mixing the icing sugar and milk together. Once the meringues are cooled, drizzle them with the icing and top each one with a mini star-shaped sprinkle.
