Classic Beef Chili Con Carne
A hearty and flavorful chili con carne recipe that combines ground beef, beans, onions, and an array of spices. This classic Tex-Mex dish is perfect for a cozy dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pepper, diced
- 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 can tomato paste
- 1 Cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1⁄2 teaspoon oregano
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions
In a skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
Add the onion, minced garlic, and diced red pepper. Cook.
Stir in the chilli powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional minute to allow the spices to release their flavors.
Add the tomato paste to the pot and stir until it is well incorporated. Then add the tomatoes, beef broth, kidney beans, and black beans. Stir everything together.
Bring chi to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
After an hour, lower heat and simmer for 30 minutes, to allow the flavors to meld together.
Serve the chili con carne with cream, scions, or sliced jalapeños.
