Directions
After washing the mangoes, peel and cut them into chunks. When doing this, be extra cautious not to waste any of the precious mango flesh. In my experience, cutting lengthwise to remove the seed first is most helpful.
Next, peel and slice the banana. Ripening the banana before using it will accentuate the sweetness, making it perfect for a smoothie.
Toss your cut mangoes and the banana into the blender. I find it useful to add these fruits first as the softness allows them to blend easily.
To the fruit mix in the blender, add 1 cup of Greek yogurt and 2 scoops of vanilla protein powder. The Greek yogurt will give the smoothie a rich, creamy taste while contributing to the protein content.
Now, pour in 1 cup of almond milk. This is a healthier, low-calorie alternative to regular milk and it makes the smoothie even creamier. If you prefer your smoothie a little more runny, you can add extra almond milk.
Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. It's essential to blend thoroughly to ensure the protein powder fully dissolves.
Add a scoop of ice cubes to the mixture and blend again. This will bring a refreshing chill to your smoothie, perfect for a hot summer day or after a sweaty workout.
If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, add 1 tablespoon of honey and blend for a few more seconds.
Taste your smoothie, make any necessary adjustments and it's ready to serve! If you're not consuming it immediately, remember to store it in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
