Homemade broken chocolate as a gift

Vary the toppings as you like - they give the chocolate its very own character - the perfect Christmas gift!

- 150 g white chocolate

Directions
To make your own broken chocolate, break the dark chocolate into a heatproof bowl. Place the bowl over a pan of gently simmering water. Make sure that the bowl does not touch the water, otherwise the chocolate could burn.
Allow the chocolate to melt slowly, stirring occasionally. I find that slow really is the way to go in this case to ensure the chocolate melts evenly and smoothly.
While the chocolate is melting, carefully toast the nuts in a dry pan until they are fragrant. Be careful, they burn easily!
Remove the melted chocolate from the heat and sprinkle over the roasted nuts and dried fruit. The combination of sweet chocolate, crunchy nuts and juicy fruit is truly irresistible.
Now melt the white chocolate, just as you did with the dark chocolate. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate and topping. Finally, add a pinch of sea salt, it really enhances the flavor of the chocolate!
Leave the chocolate to set in a cool place before breaking into pieces and enjoying. Wrap imaginatively in cellophane as a Christmas gift.
