Directions
To make the Thermomix cookie dough, first add the flour, sugar, softened butter, egg, vanilla sugar and salt to the Thermomix bowl. I personally like to make sure that the butter is really soft to get the best results.
Use the dough setting and knead the dough for 2-3 minutes. This is child's play with the Thermomix.
Remove the dough from the bowl and wrap it in cling film. Then place it in the fridge for about 30 minutes. This step is essential and I find that it gives the dough the perfect firmness to be easily worked with the cutter later.
Preheat the oven to 180° C.
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface and cut out your desired shapes. I love this stage because everyone can let their creativity run wild here. My children always have a lot of fun cutting out the cookies.
Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for approx. 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. When baking, I advise keeping an eye on the cookies as every oven bakes differently and you don't want to burn your perfectly shaped cookies!
