Directions
Start by dissolving the yeast and sugar in warm water, allowing the mixture to rest for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Mix in the salt and oil into the yeast mixture.
Gradually add the flour to this mixture, stirring well after each addition.
Once the ingredients are well combined, knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Grease a large bowl and place the dough in it, turning the dough until it's coated in oil.
Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and place it in a warm area, allowing it to rise for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and knead it for a few more minutes, shaping it into a loaf.
Place the loaf onto a greased baking sheet, cover it with the damp cloth again, and leave it to rise for another 30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake the loaf for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until it's golden brown and the bottom sounds hollow when tapped.
Allow your loaf to cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
