How to make Simple Fresh Strawberry Flan
Strawberry Flan is a classic dessert dish that's perfect for spring and summer gatherings. The crisp pastry filled with luscious custard and topped with fresh strawberries is a mouthwatering blend of taste, texture, and color. Ingredients
For the Sweet Pastry:
- 200 gms all-purpose flour
- 100 gms unsalted butter
- 50 gms semolina sugar
- 1 egg
For the Custard Filling:
- 1 vanilla pod
- 600 ml Full-fat milk
- 6 egg yolks
- 140 gms semolina sugar
For the Topping:
- 400 gms fresh strawberries
- 4 tablespoon strawberry jam

Directions
Start by combining the flour and butter until it forms a breadcrumb texture. Add in the sugar and egg and knead until a dough forms.
Roll out the dough and line a flan tin with it, then refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C, then blind bake the pastry for 15 minutes. Remove the baking beans and bake for a further 10 minutes until golden.
Split the vanilla pod in half and put in a saucepan with the milk. Bring to boil.
Whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until creamy. Pour the boiling milk onto the egg mix, whisking continuously until smooth. Return to the pan and cook gently until the custard thickens.
Once cool, pour the custard into the prepared flan case.
Arrange the fresh strawberries on top of the custard.
In a small saucepan, heat the strawberry jam until it becomes liquid and brush it over the strawberries.
Allow the flan to cool before serving. Enjoy this deliciously creamy strawberry flan with your loved ones.
