Lumumba coffee cocktail
Lumumba is a delicious and warming coffee cocktail that is perfect for cold days or socializing with friends. I have made this recipe several times and can personally confirm that it brings a welcome sweetness and warmth that suits a cozy evening at home or festive occasions.
Ingredients
- 200 ml Strong coffee
- 100 ml cream
- 50 ml chocolate syrup
- 40 ml rum
- Chocolate chips for decoration

To make the Lumumba coffee, start by brewing a strong coffee - a good espresso or a strong filter coffee can be used here. The strong taste of the coffee, which I recommend from my personal experience, perfectly complements the sweet chocolate syrup and rum.
Whip the cream while the coffee is boiling. I recommend not whipping the cream too vigorously so that it remains nice and runny and mixes well with the other ingredients.
Once the coffee is ready, divide it into two cups. Add 25 ml rum and 25 ml chocolate syrup to each cup. Make sure to mix the syrup and rum well with the coffee to ensure a harmonious taste experience.
Carefully pour the whipped cream onto the coffee. My experience has shown that it works best if you use the back of a spoon to carefully pour it onto. This creates a nice layer of cream on top of the coffee.
Finally, sprinkle some chocolate chips on top of the cream layer for an extra sweet touch and serve the Lumumba drink while still warm.
