No-rise Cakes

I would describe this recipe as SALTY YEAST – NO-YEAST PASTRY, as we bake it straight away without waiting for it to rise.

We need for the journey:

  • 250 ml milk Added to
  • 1 ts sugar Added to
  • 20 g yeast Added to
  • 50 ml oil Added to
  • 1 ts salt Added to
  • 1 ts Tzatziki spice Added to
  • 325 g semi-coarse flour Added to

Filling:

  • 8 pcs dried tomatoes Added to
  • 4 tablespoon Oil from dried tomatoes Added to
  • a handful olive Added to
  • for egg wash Chilli infused honey Added to

The dough is often prepared by activating the yeast in warm milk with sugar. Then we add all the ingredients and mix. THE DOUGH DOES NOT NEED TO RISE!!! We immediately roll it out to a thickness of 0.5 mm into a rectangle, spread the filling and roll it up. We cut it into triangles, place it on a baking sheet and brush it with oil (you can also use beaten egg). Bake at 175 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Enjoy 😊
