Making this smooth and luscious buttercream not only brings immense satisfaction but can also jewelry any cake or cupcake with its rich and creamy goodness.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup of butter (at room temperature)
- 1 Cup of creamy peanut butter (try not to use the natural type as they can separate and affect the consistency of the buttercream)

Directions
Start off by beating the butter until it gets creamy and light using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment. This usually takes about 2 minutes. I have found that starting with room temperature butter makes it easier and faster to get the desired light and fluffy texture.
Add in the creamy peanut butter to the mixer and continue beating. Combine until you get a smooth mixture. The key is to ensure both the butter and peanut butter blend perfectly.
Gradually add the powdered sugar one cup at a time. Here's a little trick, if the frosting seems too thick, add in the heavy cream. Beat until everything is smooth and completely integrated.
Add in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. If you are a frequent baker like me, you'll know that the salt actually enhances the sweetness and flavors. Beat the mixture again until completely smooth.
Now your peanut butter buttercream is ready. You can spread it immediately on cakes or cupcakes or store it in an airtight container in your fridge for future use.
