Directions
Firstly, grab a large pitcher and pour in your two bottles of dry red wine. I typically go for a Spanish Rioja as they're perfectly suited for Sangria, but any good-quality red will do the job.
Next, add brandy into the pitcher. This adds depth to the flavors and gives your sangria that authentic touch.
Follow this up by adding the orange juice and pomegranate juice. These add a natural sweetness and tartness that beautifully complements the wine and brandy.
Tumble in your sliced orange, pomegranate seeds, cranberries, and chopped apple. There's no better way to get those wonderful fruity notes that a great sangria needs!
Now, if you like your sangria a bit sweeter - like I often do - this is the time to stir in your sugar. But try it first without, as the orange and pomegranate juice often offer enough sweetness on their own.
Finally, garnish with sprigs of fresh rosemary. The aroma pairs wonderfully with the fruits and gives it a lovely holiday touch.
Place your pitcher in the fridge and allow it to chill for at least 2 hours, but preferably overnight. This step is crucial. It gives all the wonderful flavors time to blend and mature.
Once it's ready, serve it in glasses filled with ice and enjoy. Merry Christmas!
