Toasted Melted Balsamic Caprese Salad Sandwich
A Caprese Sandwich is a traditional Italian dish served on toasted ciabatta bread, filled with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and fresh basil. It's drizzled with an exquisite balsamic glaze for a deliciously tangy finish. Satisfying, refreshing, and bursting with Italian flavors, this sandwich is perfect for a quick lunch or a light dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf of ciabatta bread
- 8 slices of fresh mozzarella
- 2 large tomatoes, sliced
- 1 volume of fresh Basil leaves
- 2 tbls of olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
- Balsamic glaze for drizzle
- 2 cloves Garlic (optional)

Directions
Start with preheating your oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
Cut your ciabatta bread into 4 equal parts, then slice each part in half crosswise.
Optional: Rub the inside of each bread piece with a garlic clove.
Drizzle each slice of bread with olive oil. Arrange the bread on a baking sheet and bake for about 5 minutes, or until slightly toasted.
Place slices of fresh mozzarella and tomatoes on the bottom half of each ciabatta.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Top with fresh basil leaves.
Drizzle balsamic glaze on top of the layers, then cover with the top half of the ciabatta.
Bake for additional 2-3 minutes until cheese starts to melt.
Serve immediately while still warm. Enjoy your flavorful Caprese Sandwich!
