Authentic Classic Reuben Sandwich
Looking for a sandwich with bold flavors and textures? Try a Reuben sandwich! This iconic sandwich is made with layers of corned sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Thousand Island dressing. Toasted until melty, it will surely satisfy your cravings and fill you up.
Ingredients
- 4 slices of rye bread
- 4 sliced canned beef
- 1⁄2 Cup sauerkraut, well-drained
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 tablespoon thousand Island dressing
- 2 tablespoon butter
- salt and pepper

Directions
Preheat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
Spread the butter evenly over one side of each slice of bread.
On the unbuttered side of one slice of bread, place a slice of Swiss cheese followed by 2-3 oz. of corned beef, then a layer of sauerkraut, and finally a dollop of Thousand Island dressing. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Top with another slice of Swiss cheese and another slice of bread, butter side up.
Place the sandwich in and cook until melted, about 4 minutes per side.
Repeat with more bread and ingredients to make another sandwich.
