1. Step

Soak the basmati rice in water for an hour. In a pan, melt 2 tbsp of ghee and roast the coconut cuts, cashews, and almonds.

Remove the nuts from the pan, and set aside. In the same melted ghee, add cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, and the soaked basmati rice. Roast for 2 minutes or so.

Add boiling water, salt, and saffron. Cover and cook on a low flame until the water has evaporated.

Add sugar, and cook for another two minutes. Mix, then add the remaining 1 tbsp of ghee and the roasted nuts, and mix again.
