Chilli Con Carne in Slow Cooker
This slow-cooker chilli con carne is packed with flavour and incredibly easy to make. Simply brown the beef, onions, and garlic, then let everything simmer away in the slow cooker all day. Serve it with your favourite toppings, such as sour cream, shredded cheese, hot sauce or avocado.
Ingredients
- 11⁄2 Pounds ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 tablespoon Chilli Powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1⁄2 teaspoon oregano
- salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 Cup beef or chicken broth
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, sliced jalapeños, hot sauce, avocado

Directions
Brown the ground beef and onions in a large skillet over medium heat until beef is browned and onions are translucent. Add garlic and sauté for a minute until fragrant. Drain any excess fat.
Transfer the beef mixture into a slow cooker. Add the crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, chilli powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, black pepper, and broth. Stir everything together.
Cook on low heat for 6-8 hours on low or 3-4 hours on high.
Before serving, give chilli a stir. Adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot with toppings of your choice.
