How to cook the Best Corned Beef Recipe
Corned beef is a classic dish for any occasion. This tender and flavorful beef is brined and then slow-cooked to perfection. Serve it with potatoes and carrots for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 2 Pounds corned beef brisket
- 1 onion, peeled and quartered
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon whole allspice
- 1 teaspoon Coriander Seeds
- 4 cups water

Directions
Rinse the corned beef brisket under cold water to remove any excess salt.
Put in a large pot and add the onion, garlic, black peppercorns, bay leaves, seeds, allspice, and coriander seeds. Pour in the water, making sure the beef is submerged.
Bring the pot to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low and cover.
Simmer the corn beef for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls apart.
If desired, you can add additional vegetables such as cabbage, carrots, and potatoes to the pot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Once cooked, remove the meat from the pot and let it rest for a few minutes.
Serve the corned beef sliced with your choice vegetables. For example, use it to make delicious sandwiches.
