Mulligatawny Soup from India
The Mulligatawny Soup is a traditional dish of Indian cuisine with a mix of spicy and sweet flavors. It combines the best of the West and East and is also very popular in its homeland Britain. This hearty chicken soup with lentils and apples can be served as a main course.
Ingredients
- 500 g chicken breast
- 100 g Yellow lentils
- 2 Piece apple
- 1 Piece onion
- 2 Toe garlic
- 1 Piece carrot
- 1 l chicken stock cube
- 2 tbsp curry powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice

Directions
Step 1: First, for the Mulligatawny soup, cut the chicken breast into cubes and fry them in a pot with olive oil. Then take the chicken meat out of the pot and set it aside.
Step 2: Next, cut the onion, garlic, and carrot into cubes and put them in the same pot. Sauté the vegetables for about 5 minutes.
Step 3: Now add the lentils and curry powder and stir everything well. Then add the chicken broth and let the soup simmer for about 30 minutes.
Step 4: While the soup is simmering, peel the apples, remove the core, and cut them into small cubes. Then add these to the soup.
Step 5: After the soup has boiled, add the chicken meat and lemon juice and let the soup simmer for about 10 more minutes. After that, your Mulligatawny soup is ready to serve.
