San Choy Bao Chicken Lettuce Wraps
San Choy Bao, a popular Chinese dish, are lettuce wraps filled with savory-sweet ground chicken. Perfect as a light appetizer or side dish. It's a healthy and flavor-packed recipe that's a delight to both kids and adults.
Ingredients
- 500 gms of minced chicken breast
- 1 head of iceberg lettuce, washed and separated into leaves
- 2 tbls of olive oil
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tbls of soy sauce
- 2 tbls of oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 Carrot, finely chopped
- 1 Bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1⁄2 Cup of fresh white mushrooms, finely chopped
- 1 small can of water chestnuts, finely chopped
- Green onions/scallions for topping
- salt to taste

Directions
Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add in the garlic and sauté until they begin to brown slightly.
Add the chicken mince to the pan and cook until browned. Be sure to break it up into small chunks.
Once the chicken is cooked, add in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and hoisin sauce. Stir well to combine.
Add in the chopped carrots, bell peppers, mushrooms, and water chestnuts. Mix everything well.
Cook over medium heat for around 5 minutes, until all vegetables are cooked and the flavors have melded together.
Spoon the chicken mixture into the lettuce leaves and top with chopped green onions.
Serve warm and enjoy your delicious San Choy Bao.
