Simple Creamy Spaghetti with Garlic Prawns
Spaghetti with Prawns is a classic and elegant Italian dish, combining the delicate flavors of prawns with the richness of a garlic spaghetti. The mixture is then tossed in a spicy tomato sauce, giving this dish a kick of heat that contrasts beautifully with the smooth and creamy pasta. Ingredients
- 200 gms spaghetti
- 350 gms prawns, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red chilli flakes
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
- salt and black pepper to taste
- A handful of fresh basil leaves
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Directions
Cook spaghetti according to packaging instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside, saving 1 cup of pasta water.
While spaghetti is cooking, heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
Add the minced garlic and red chilli flakes, sauté for a minute until the garlic turns golden.
Add the prawns, cook until they've turned pink, around 2 to 3 minutes.
Add the diced tomatoes, stir and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper.
Now add the cooked spaghetti to the pan along with some pasta water till the desired consistency is achieved. Mix well so the spaghetti is coated with the sauce.
Take it off the heat, add the fresh basil leaves.
Divide among serving plates, and top with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
Serve immediately, while hot.
