The best Christmas punch
Recipe for the best Christmas punch that I cook every year.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle red wine
- 1 glass orange juice
- 200 ml brandy
- 100 g brown sugar
- 1 a piece orange
- 1 a piece lemon
- 2 a piece cinnamon
- 5 a piece cloves
- A piece of nutmeg

Start by pouring a bottle of red wine into a large pot. Add orange juice to the pot and cook over medium heat.
If you prefer sweet drinks, add more juice. Pour in brandy and sprinkle in brown sugar. I prefer to use brandy for this recipe because it adds a unique depth of flavor and aroma to the punch.
Add the orange and lemon pieces to the pot. It is important to add the zest as well, as it will give the punch the necessary bitterness that perfectly balances the sweetness. Add the cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Don't be afraid to experiment with lots of spices, but remember that nutmeg is quite strong, so just a little goes a long way.
Let the punch cook on a low heat for about 15 - 20 minutes. It is important to let it cook slowly so that all the flavours and aromas mix nicely.
