Easy Japanese Grilled Miso Salmon

Miso Salmon is a Japanese-inspired dish that combines the umami-rich flavor of miso paste with the natural succulence of salmon. The sweet and salty miso glaze not only enhances the flavor of the fish but also provides a beautiful caramelized crust. Serve it with steamed rice and veggies for a well-rounded meal.

Directions

45 min.
1. Step

In a small bowl, mix together the miso paste, brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic to form a smooth sauce.

2. Step

Place the salmon fillets in a dish and pour the miso mixture over it. Ensure all sides of the salmon are covered in the sauce.

3. Step

Cover the dish and marinate the salmon in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes. If time allows, marinate for 2-3 hours to let the flavors fully infuse.

4. Step

Preheat your grill or oven broiler. Remove the salmon from the marinade, letting any excess drip off.

5. Step

Grill or broil the salmon for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until your preferred doneness.

6. Step

Serve the miso salmon hot with steamed rice. Garnish with sliced green onions.
