Directions

60 min.
1. Step

First things first, let's start by bringing color to our sausages. In a large pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add your sausages and cook for about 10-15 minutes, until the sausages are beautifully browned on all sides. This caramelization will give the sausages that irresistible smoky flavor. After cooking, remove the sausages and set them aside.

2. Step

In the same pan, sauté the onions, garlic, and bell peppers. Do this over medium heat for about five minutes. This is an important step as it helps to extract the flavors from the veggies, making the dish more flavorful.

3. Step

While the veggies are sautéing, you can make the sweet and sour sauce. This is an easy task, just combine the vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar and cornstarch in a bowl and stir until it's smooth. The proportion of vinegar and sugar can be adjusted according to your taste. If you prefer it a bit more tangy, feel free to add more vinegar.

4. Step

Pour that delicious sweet and sour sauce over your sautéed veggies then add the pineapple chunks and the sausages back into the pan. Season with salt and black pepper. Simmer the dish over low heat for about 20 minutes. This will allow all the flavors from the sauce, veggies, and sausages to marry together. Trust me, the result is incredible!

5. Step

Serve this dish with steamed rice or mashed potato, and you've got a meal to remember!
